Dr. Bill Foster, aka Black Goliath, the second Giant-Man, and the fourth Goliath, is a comic book superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. Dr. Foster is an African American with powers that mimic Giant-Man's. Black Goliath can increase his size and mass to gigantic proportions. He was originally created by Stan Lee and Don Heck in The Avengers #32 in September of 1966. In April of 1975 his "Black Goliath" persona was created by the combined efforts of Tony Isabella and George Tuska in Power Man #24. Christopher Columbus was remembered by some as an explorer and colonizer but thought of by others as a thief, slave trader, and pirate. Columbus has been awarded the title of discovering the new world but history shows that he really initiated the European colonization of the "New World." This "New World" was already inhabited by indigenous people and had been discovered several times by other explorers.

Christopher was appointed Viceroy and Governor of the Indies but was later accused of tyranny and incompetence. Christopher Columbus and his two brothers were arrested and brought back to Spain for a trial which contained the testimonies of 23 witnesses. According to the testimonies Columbus regularly used barbaric acts of torture to govern Hispaniola. After 6 weeks in jail he was released and pardon by the King.

American culture has a reoccurring theme throughout it's history of glorifying villains and sometimes portraying them as heroes. Many of the cartoons, movies, and stories in popular culture contained evil characters that had better costumes, one liners, and presence than the good characters. Even the Dukes of Hazard drove around in a car named after the confederate army General Robert E. Lee. The Predator face was used in place of Christopher Columbus's for this reason. The "Thug Life" shirt was used to further depict this.

Many people were arrested during the two nights of rioting, and fires ruined many stores, buildings, and vehicles. The riots spread to other neighborhoods, with shops being looted in the chaos.
